David Fink is a partner in the San Francisco law firm of Nachlis & Fink.
David Fink brings over 25 years’ experience helping families in transition to his current law practice which is focused on consensual dispute resolution. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley and Golden Gate School of Law (with highest honors) in 1987, David has practiced Family Law exclusively since 1989 and has been Certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Family Law Specialist since 1993. He has been a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2000.
The focus of David’s work as an attorney and mediator has always been to assist clients to create their own solutions to dissolving – and forming or re-forming- marital and non-marital family relationships. David believes that family disputes are best resolved by family members, with respect and on terms that are perceived as reasonable and workable by all of the disputing parties.
Since 2008, David’s practice has been limited to assisting individuals to resolve family law and domestic partnership disputes without litigation, including property division, support, and parenting issues. In addition to serving as a neutral mediator, David represents individual clients in a variety of consensual dispute resolution models including Collaborative Practice, traditional settlement negotiation and as a consulting attorney to clients in mediation.
David also provides private dispute resolution services to parties and counsel, serving as a neutral case evaluator, settlement officer, arbitrator, private judge, parenting coordinator and as a referee in financial and parenting disputes
David is a co-founder and Past President of Collaborative Practice San Francisco and is also a member of Collaborative Practice East Bay. He was honored in 2007 with the Eureka Award by Collaborative Practice California, where he has served on the Board of Directors from 2006 until 2015.
